How Times Have Changed...

Remember when dances only lasted about three hours if your were lucky. Your date came to get you for dinner about an hour before the dance. You sat there in the restaurant looking at each other being totally embarrassed. You didn't plan who you were going to ask by what group you thought could be together.

It was way more awkward of course because you didn't have a bunch of people to talk to. But good for your social skills. You ate, went to the dance, went home and called it good.

Now it is an all-day production. With groups as large as they can get them. Then you don't have to actually look your date in the eye. Tanner has a good group of friends though and they just kind of swap dates for different dances and they really do have a great time together.

We made dinner for them at the Alumni House at SUU after they went four-wheeling all day in the snow. The girls had fun despite the cold. They all said it was one of the funnest dates they have been on. They went to the dance after we completely embarrassed them with 5 thousand pictures (which i am horrible at)then watched movies at our house until way too late. They all looked really awesome and it was fun to see the boys act like gentlemen. One more event that takes us closer to graduation. I am really going to miss this cute group of kids.

  1. When my kids are in high school, the "in" thing will be parents getting their kids hotel rooms for "all night" dates. Can't wait. Tanner is getting to be pretty cute! Who knew??

  4. well you were the only smart one that refused to go through that awkward stage. Most of the dances i went to were atrocious. I'm scarred for life.
